Indie Beauty Expo NY 2016 | Recap

Last month I had the pleasure of attending the Indie Beauty Expo NY for the first time. To say I had a great time would be an understatement! If you’re not familiar with this event it’s a 2 day expo where indie green beauty & wellness brands come together to showcase products, discuss topics affecting the market, and how we can spread the word about healthy beauty.

As a green beauty and healthy lifestyle blogger this was especially important to me because I strive to bring education and resources to my growing audience. The Indie Beauty expo afforded me the opportunity to meet the brand owners in person and not only discuss natural products but the green beauty community as a whole.

We had amazing speakers from organizations such as the Environmental Working Group (EWG), Beauty Lies Truth, and actress Kimberly Elise who is an advocate for natural beauty. I learned and absorbed so much information over those 2 days.

I also got to meet other green beauty bloggers and influencers in the natural beauty space. What a breath of fresh air to be in a space filled with women who all shared a common interest and common goal.

I had the opportunity to test and try so many new products, which I’m so excited to bring to all of you. It’s been two weeks and I still have not made it through all of the products and information I received. Not to worry I will have loads of product reviews and new finds coming to this platform so please stay tuned.

Beauty is a billion dollar industry and the green beauty space is a small sub category in that bracket. It is slowly gaining momentum, as women want to make healthier choices with their health & beauty routines. However there is still a lot more education and awareness that need to take place. Thankfully events like the Indie Beauty Expo are providing a place for emerging green beauty brands and influencers to come together.
